Introducing Supervisor Boot Camp

Participants must supervise at least one employee who is either administrative/professional faculty or classified staff.

The first session is Monday, February 26, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Tuesday, February 27, from 9 a.m. to noon in Merten Hall.

Agenda items include Leadership Essentials, Employee Relations, Hiring, Workforce Planning/Compensation, Onboarding, Benefits and the ADA, Life/Work, Payroll, Feedback, Effective Meetings, and effective communication and leadership practices.

Space is limited, and registrations are first come, first served. Contact Robyn Madar at rmadar@gmu.edu to reserve your space and with any questions. We anticipate offering this program several times per year, so be sure to ask to be added to the waitlist if the current dates do not work with your schedule.

Physical Well-Being Seminar: Compassion in the Workplace
In this session on March 14 at noon, you will learn how the science of compassion can improve team engagement and performance. Dr. Suzie Carmack will help participants design a “genius break” to foster workplace compassion and help prevent compassion fatigue.
