Patriot Lift: Transportation for Mobility-impaired Patriots

The Patriot Lift Program provides limited campus transportation service to those students, faculty and staff requiring long- or short-term assistance moving around campus.

All faculty and staff must receive prior approval from the Office of Compliance, Diversity and Ethics. The program is a partnership between Parking & Transportation, Office of Disability Services, Student Health Services, and Compliance, Diversity and Ethics.

All students must receive prior approval from the Office of Disability Services or Student Health Services.

Students, faculty, and staff approved for transportation assistance through the Office of Disability Services, Student Health Services, or Compliance, Diversity and Ethics will receive door-to-door service within the parameter of the Fairfax Campus on a one-time or recurring basis. The Parking and Transportation department will house and operate the program.

Transport services are not provided for off-campus locations. 

Hours of Operation When School is in Session Only:
8:00am-7:00pm  Monday – Friday

No service during holidays breaks and when administrative offices are closed. The service may be suspended during inclement weather or other conditions.

Fitness First: Free and Discounted Gym Usage

Mason fitness centers will be open at no cost from 6-8 a.m. Monday through Friday, February 1 – May 18. The Arlington YMCA is offering Mason Spirit Weeks – three free weeks during January, February, and March. The first 100 of our faculty and staff who join the YMCA during this promotion will receive 50% off the one-time $75 initiation fee. While monthly membership fees still apply, Mason employees are eligible for 10% off.

The recording from the January 26 WebEx Meeting Center training session is now available. Trainings for WebEX Event Center, Training Center, and Spark are currently being scheduled for March. All information can be found at its.gmu.edu/webex.

Patriot Pantry Donations Needed

The Patriot Pantry is seeking donations for students in need. In-demand items include:

Toilet Paper
Paper Towels
Compleats Meals & Barilla Italian Style Entrees
Body Wash, Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Lotion
Laundry Pods and Dryer Sheets
Toothpaste and Mouthwash
Reusable water bottles
Cereals
Beverages

Additional wanted items can be viewed on the Patriot Pantry Amazon Wishlist. Due to space restrictions in the pantry and lower student demand, the pantry is unable to accept ramen noodles, canned vegetables, or hotel sized hygiene products.

Dedication of the Potomac Science Center

Join Mason as it dedicates The Potomac Science Center on Thursday, April 12 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Belmont Bay in Woodbridge, Virginia. The Potomac Science Center is a destination for environmental science research along the Chesapeake Bay watershed.

Sibs and Kids Weekend 2018

Sibs & Kids Weekend (formerly Siblings Weekend) is April 21-22. New this year, we are inviting Mason faculty and staff to bring their kids ages 6-18.
