Join the Staff Senate

Becoming a Staff Senator is a great way to get involved with the university community and to have an impact on your workplace. The senate provides many opportunities to learn about how the university works and to collaborate with administrators and staff members outside of your unit.

A nomination form can be submitted for yourself or a colleague between June 9 – June 20.

An official election will be held between July 9 and July 23. Results will be published in the August Staff Senate newsletter.

The Staff Senate will hold a Prospective Staff Senator Information Session on Wednesday, May 21, 10 a.m. to noon, for anyone interested in learning more about the work of the senate. If you miss the session, a link to the recording will be available.

The senate accepts nominations each June, and elections are held in July. Terms begin in August and are for two years. Seats are open to only classified staff and non-student wage employee classifications.
